Whereas the 2016 evaluation focused on research performance, the upcoming evaluation of 2020 will focus on the quality of the education that is provided at the University. The evaluations are commissioned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.<\/p><p>Evaluation 2020 will appraise the quality of education at the University from different angles such as its mission, educational goals and strategy; the prevailing quality culture; and the educational management and organization from the perspectives of students, staff, and stakeholders.<\/p><p>At a kick-off meeting, members of the university community had the opportunity to learn about the evaluation process and about their involvement.<\/p><p>Representatives from Luxembourg\u2019s Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the University\u2019s team for the Evaluation explained the purpose of the evaluation. Mr. L\u00e9on Diederich, Government Commissioner, and Mr. St\u00e9phane Pallage, Rector of the University of Luxembourg, highlighted the importance of this evaluation process. The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) that will implement the evaluation explained their appreciative approach and methodology.<\/p><p>Evaluation 2020 will begin with a comprehensive self-assessment at the level of study programmes, the faculties and the University at large. It will also include student and stakeholder feedback that will be collected in the second half of 2019. It will conclude with a peer review based on the University\u2019s self-assessment report and a series of site visits in October 2020.
