The University of Luxembourg, the country\u2019s public research centres, and the Luxembourg National Research Fund will embark on a mission to Quebec on Monday 25 February.<\/p>

The objective is to strengthen cooperation with universities in Quebec and expand collaboration in scientific research with the French-speaking Canadian province.<\/p>

The delegation from the University of Luxembourg will be led by its rector, Prof. St\u00e9phane Pallage<\/a> and will include representatives from its three faculties as well as its interdisciplinary research centres. With the presence of other major research institutes \u2013 the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER), as well as the Luxembourg National Research Fund, the country\u2019s diverse scientific research sector will be represented in its entirety.<\/p>

\u201cI am delighted at the idea of strengthening existing ties between Quebec and Luxembourg in the areas of education and research,\u201d says Prof. St\u00e9phane Pallage, Rector of the University of Luxembourg. \u201cQuebec and Luxembourg share a strong desire to develop scientific research. My hope is that we will establish joint projects that benefit all partners and encompass Luxembourg\u2019s diverse research institutes in a cohesive approach. More than ever before, teamwork is driving Luxembourg\u2019s public research stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>

The delegation\u2019s meetings will aim at expanding inter-university cooperation through joint degree programmes, student and researcher exchanges, and joint research projects targeting priority research areas in Luxembourg.<\/p>

The delegation will have talks with Universit\u00e9 Laval, the University of Montreal, McGill University, the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQAM), the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) [National Scientific Research Centre], Mila \u2013 the Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute -, IVADO \u2013 the Institute for Data Valorisation, as well as the Qu\u00e9bec Research Funds.<\/p>

The mission will focus on exploring areas of cooperation in the fields of health, life sciences and biomedicine; data science and artificial intelligence; law, modern history and education sciences.<\/p>

The delegation of the University of Luxembourg includes representatives from its faculties (the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication, the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance, the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education), as well as its interdisciplinary research centres (the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine and the Centre for Contemporary and Digital History).<\/p><\/div><\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
