Despite strong winds, the Open Day at the University of Luxembourg on 14 March has attracted a higher number than 2025. Close to 5,500 persons \u2013 students, pupils and families \u2013 streamed to Belval campus to explore study programmes, campus facilities and student life. This confirms the increase of interest of potential students over the last years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many visitors come from Luxembourg, while more and more visitors come from across neighbouring countries and sometimes even further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University students and staff welcomed the visitors, offering comprehensive information and guided tours of biomedical and engineering laboratories<\/a>, the Luxembourg Learning Centre<\/a>, medical simulation teaching units<\/a> and the iconic blast furnaces. Each year, visitors look for exchange and conversation: chatting with current student clubs and services, teachers and international relations officers to get a first glimpse of what their future study life could look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Latvia to Luxembourg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Latvian family on holiday in Brussels decided to make a day trip to Belval: Michael and Alexandra came with their children Andrew and Sofia, accompanied by Andrew\u2019s girlfriend Arina. The former is interested in economics, while Arina looks toward cultural history studies. \u201cI discovered the University of Luxembourg through social media posts\u201d, explains Andrew. \u201cWe really liked how modern it looks, and the variety of courses on offer. French is required for the Bachelors, so perhaps I won\u2019t register now. But I definitely want to do my master here.\u201d For his parents, the admission fees (400 euros per semester for Bachelor programmes<\/a>) tick an important checkbox, as well as the Luxembourg state support for students. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sophie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophie is a Luxembourger student in her second last year in high school. Looking towards a career in nursing sciences<\/a>, she particularly appreciated the practical perspectives gained from speaking with the teachers. \u201cI got a much better impression of what the working environment is like, what it is like to work as a nurse. I also got useful information about admission requirements, so I\u2019m glad I came here even before my last year in school.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sai<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe university has a very welcoming atmosphere, the campus is easily accessible, and I noticed a lot of diversity the few times I was here\u201d, says Sai, 17. \u201cI discovered the Scienteens Lab<\/a> during school visits and loved the topics explored there. I came here today to help me decide between a bachelor of biomedicine<\/a>, medicine<\/a>, physics<\/a>, and related disciplines.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Currently, close to 7,000 students are enrolled at Uni.lu, for nearly 300 University professors. This ratio allows for small classes, direct contact and personalised teaching.\u202fThe University offers 25 Bachelor\u2019s programmes, 47 Master\u2019s degrees and 17 continuing education programmes, mostly bilingual and tailored for prospective careers in industry, public services, academia or entrepreneurship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registrations are now open<\/strong> for the launch of the new academic year on 15 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
