{"id":53535,"date":"2025-11-06T13:48:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T12:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=53535"},"modified":"2025-11-27T12:26:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T11:26:11","slug":"ed-unilu-and-nine-university-students-participate-at-the-eu-future-talks-iv","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/news\/ed-unilu-and-nine-university-students-participate-at-the-eu-future-talks-iv\/","title":{"rendered":"ED-UNILU and nine university students participate at the EU Future Talks IV"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/about\/partners-international-networks\/international-networks\/europe-direct-university-of-luxembourg\/\">Europe Direct University of Luxembourg<\/a> is a partner in the <strong>Erasmus Plus project Youth Participation Activities, KA154-YOU<\/strong> for the <strong>4th edition of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salzburg.gv.at\/fileadmin\/Dateien\/Europa\/buergerservice\/EU_Future_Talks_Salzburg_2025EL-A4-O.pdf\">EU FUTURE TALKS<\/a>\u201d<\/strong>, scheduled from <strong>19 to 21 November 2025 in Salzburg, Austria.<\/strong><br><br>This <strong>transnational project<\/strong> brings together young people from <strong>various backgrounds<\/strong> across Europe to exchange ideas and visions for Europe\u2019s future. It promotes <strong>critical thinking<\/strong>, a deeper understanding of <strong>global challenges<\/strong>, and the creation of <strong>synergies that go beyond national borders<\/strong>. Through meaningful debates, participants will explore topics such as <strong>peace, democracy, rights, inclusion, European identity<\/strong>, and strategies to address <strong>technological and environmental challenges.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"nine-motivated-students-were-selected-to-represent-the-university-of-luxembourg-in-debates-with-peers-from-the-other-six-founding-countries-of-the-european-union-and-austria\"\n    >\nNine motivated students were selected to represent the University of Luxembourg in debates with peers from the other six founding countries of the European Union and Austria.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On the second day of the programme, Thursday, November 20th, the students and their peers worked in small groups on one of the following four topics along with experts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"ulux-list\">\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Competitiveness and sustainability: conflicting interests<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Freedom, security, and solidarity: together as EU fundamental rights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Geopolitical challenges: the role of Europe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">Digital transformation &amp; AI: changing times in Europe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The outcomes of the debates of each working group were summarized in three key questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the final day of the programme, Friday, November 21st,<strong> these key questions were addressed to four Members of the European Parliament during the Plenary discussion<\/strong>.
