In the context of the European program “Values-Identity-Culture<\/a>“, Europe Direct University of Luxembourg (ED-UNILU) welcomed a group of 24 students and 4 teachers from the Lyc\u00e9e Hubert-Cl\u00e9ment in Esch-sur-Alzette and their partner high school in Thessaloniki (Greece) to the Belval campus on the 16th of October 2024.

The school visit, which began at the ED-UNILU space in the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC), included discussions with the pupils and their teachers on their respective topics of interest relating to current European affairs. Maria Eleni Nikoloudia and Luca Colling informed the guests about ED-UNILU’s activities and projects within the University and as part of the local and wider regional network of Europe Direct Centres, and provided them with a series of multilingual publications on Europe by the Publications Office of the EU and available in the ED-UNILU document library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group also visited the LLC in the company of a librarian and then discovered the industrial heritage of the Cit\u00e9 des Sciences, in particular the blast furnaces, with the help of a specialist guide from the Fonds Belval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The morning at Belval campus ended with a group photo at the ED-UNILU space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European program “Values-Identity-Culture<\/a>” is meant to encourage students to reflect critically on Europe\u2019s past, present and future, as well as to weigh up the benefits and challenges of the European Union.
Moreover, the project will enhance the pupils\u2019 motivation to participate in the democratic processes that will shape the future of the European Union and their attachment to its fundamental values.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
