Study abroad can quickly turn into a nightmare, as Cesar and Henry Fernandez experienced firsthand when the two brothers from Honduras decided to enrol in the Master\u2019s in Entrepreneurship and Innovation<\/a> at the University in 2021. Drawing strength from this challenge, they launched their own startup, MoveMe<\/a>, a digital platform offering end-to-end personalised assistance, advice, and exclusive offers for students. The goal of the two entrepreneurs is to provide affordable solutions and centralised information in the face of a relocation process that can sometimes be complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nVarious tools and collaborations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

MoveMe reinvents relocation with a fully digital platform, eliminating all human contact to make their services more affordable and handle a larger volume of requests. To achieve this, the platform offers various organisational tools such as PlanMe, TrackMe, and FileMe. These tools provide personalised assessments based on each case and offer a customised calendar for the different steps to follow. Additionally, users can find a list of necessary relocation documents, tips, and official documents. Cesar and Henry also pay tribute to their aunt, who was of great help in their own move, by naming their AI relocation assistant Ethel after her, which “Now we are basically trying to give an Ethel to everyone,” smiles Cesar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the challenges encountered by the brothers during the reallocation, they were fortunate to have a lot of support later in their entrepreneurial journey, including when creating their startup with Incubator and Entrepreneurship Programme<\/a> and through a partnership with the University of Luxembourg. “I think that the University has helped us tremendously,” recalls Cesar, adding, “for us, it was the first catalyst that allowed us to deeply engage in the startup ecosystem here in Luxembourg.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership benefits the University as well, as the platform acts as a sort of intermediary between the institution and its international students. In fact, for all Master’ students enrolled in 2024, the University offers a code for free access to the platform. MoveMe aims to facilitate students’ arrival while offering the best possible and necessary services, such as opening a bank account, to prepare for their arrival. The startup also established partnerships with various Luxembourgish companies like the Spuerkeess. The future looks promising for the two brothers, who already see their business rapidly expanding only 8 months after its launch, notably in Hungary, France, Belgium, and Germany. They also attribute this success to the support of the University of Luxembourg, which they believe will motivate other students wanting to launch their own startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
