With the excitement of the Open Day cooling down, it is time to take stock of the event. The count reached 5,000 visitors, a significant increase on previous years, and one that has delighted Jens Kreisel, Rector of the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was held during the whole Saturday at Belval Campus. On this occasion, research laboratories, classrooms and learning facilities such as the Learning Centre opened their doors to visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests came from a wide range of backgrounds. Among the visitors, were high school students looking for information on how to start a Bachelor’s degree, as well as prospective doctoral candidates seeking information from the Office of Doctoral Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its strong focus on research, the University currently has around 1,000 doctoral candidates out of a total enrollment of 7,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Open Day also welcomed St\u00e9phanie Obertin, Minister for Research and Higher Education, who visited the event for the first time since she took office in November 2023. She explored the stands, met the various exhibitors and took the pulse of the day’s events. Like her predecessors, she received a hoodie in the Uni colours. The Uni\u2019s Open Day provided a showcase for the institution and its vast study programme. There are almost a dozen new courses on offer<\/a>, including 21 bachelor’s degrees and 55 master’s degrees for the 2024-2025 academic year. Registrations are now open<\/a> for the launch of the new academic year on 16 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
