Education is a driving force fuelled by more than 300 teaching staff members at the University. It figures among the top missions of the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, for the first time, Teaching Day will be held for the University’s teaching community on 23 February, featuring talks and discussions on current issues in education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, \u201cthe debate on artificial intelligence tools is going round in circles, but it is the practical experience that drives discussion: it can help to identify the possibilities offered by these tools, and even to identify the benefits for study courses \u201d, illustrates Prof. Catherine L\u00e9glu, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Teaching Day is part of the internal programme ACT (Advancing Competence in Teaching for student success)<\/a>, a new label that will be used for other events throughout the current semester:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is organised by the Education Quality Office (EQO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nShaping the education of tomorrow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The professionalisation of teaching, its dialogue with research and the promotion and integration of research in teaching activities are all priorities in the Strategy framework for the period from 2020 to 2039<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University takes a unique approach to knowledge transfer with an emphasis on multilingualism and human-sized classes boasting a lower teacher-student ratio than in other institutions. These favourable conditions for learning will continue to mark its pedagogical approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2020-2021 academic year, results of the first external evaluation of University\u2019s teaching<\/a> led to improvements in the governance of education as well as greater visibility for teaching. For instance, Covid crisis enabled the introduction of hybrid teaching and more extensive use of Moodle.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n
