Following a successful 2024 edition, the GoGo Velo<\/a> initiative is back in 2025!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new mission is called “Ride Me to the Moon.” Together, all participants will attempt to cycle 384,400 km<\/strong> \u2014 the approximative distance between Earth and the Moon. A team competition will also be organised among Luxembourg’s secondary schools and the University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main goal of the GoGo VELO campaign\u2014 an initiative by ProVelo asbl and Klima-B\u00fcndnis L\u00ebtzebuerg, supported by the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works \u2014 remains the same: to further promote and establish cycling as an everyday mode of transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All participants are encouraged to use their bicycles as often as possible for everyday transportation and leisure activities. Exciting challenges have been added to the campaign to maintain high motivation. Completing these challenges will qualify participants for a raffle with fantastic prizes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When registering, remember to join the University of Luxembourg team to compete with us. But don’t be afraid\u2014you will still compete for the individual prizes. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to take part in the campaign?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. You must download the “Radbonus II” application from the App Store<\/a> of the Google store<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Use the \u201cGoGoVelo\u201d access code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Register with the \u201cUniversit\u00e9 du Luxembourg\u201d team (the last one on the selection page, you need to scroll down<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    All you had to do afterwards was launch the application using the track button while cycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    From an individual perspective, the bike offers the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • A free, flexible and comparatively fast way of getting around<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • A more intensive and attentive perception of the surroundings<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Increased awareness of nature and landscape<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Promoting physical and mental health <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Positive facts about cycling:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Environment: Using a bicycle instead of a car saves around 21 grams of CO2 per kilometre cycled<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Health: Regular cycling can help prevent cardiovascular disorders, with a risk reduction of up to 50% according to the World Health Organisation, as well as other physical and mental illnesses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Well-being: Cycling helps to reduce stress and has a calming effect on the body.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Flexibility: It has been proven that cycling is no less effective than travelling by car or public transport over short to medium distances, and is often the fastest means of transportation to get from A to B.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
