\nAbstract<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The cumulation of global \u201ccrises\u201d (food, climate, biodiversity, resources, \u2026) has led to a renewal of growth-critical thinking in many domains. The talk starts by tackling a frequent misunderstanding and shows that post-growth or degrowth approaches are not meant to be the opposite of growth. They rather aim at overcoming the growth fixation of the prevailing economic system which has led to a continued coupling of economic growth and material consumption. Examples from different sectors illustrate possible post-growth practices as well as their ecological, social, and economic implications. The potentials and pitfalls of a post-growth-oriented transition are critically discussed, as are the implications for academic research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
