Christoph studied Artificial Intelligence in Saarbrücken and at the German Research Centre for AI before working for 8 years at IBM R&D in the field of “Data Science/Business intelligence”. At the same time, he completed his doctorate in medical informatics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. In October 2003, Christoph was appointed associate professor at the University of Luxembourg.
Today, he leads a research group that conducts interdisciplinary research through the application of machine learning, data science, and natural language processing. Christoph is an internationally recognized scientific reviewer and active for Leibniz Association, Springer and IEEE, among others. He is PC member at more than 100 international conferences such as IJCAI, AAMAS, CogSci, ECML and others.
Christoph regularly organises lecture series/Ph.D. workshops and is author of about 100 scientific papers. He currently (co)supervises 14 PhD candidates in Luxembourg, Bologna and London. He has taught around 145 courses at the University of Luxembourg and at several other universities abroad, e.g., at FU Berlin (each semester since Summer 2018), U Potsdam, Goethe Frankfurt/Main, at Tsinghua in Beijing, and Singapore (SUTD; each semester since summer 2019).
