Necessary documents
We recommend to prepare your documents neatly before starting your application. Which documents you will need depends on the study programme you wish to apply to and your background. Below a list of documents we typically require. This list is not binding and your programme of interest might require other, additional documents. When applying, the system will indicate which files you need to upload to be able to submit the application for your specific programme of interest.
All documents need to be uploaded in PDF, JPG or PNG format. Max. size per document: max. 5 MB.
Generally needed documents
for Bachelor applications
- 1 identity photo
- 1 copy of the identity card or passport
- 1 copy of the certificate of health insurance dated of the current month
- 1 copy of the secondary school leaving certificate (please check the eligibility criteria to learn more about criteria for your specific situation)
- 1 copy of the equivalence for secondary school leaver’s certificate that are not from Luxembourg (see Diploma recognition)
- 1 copy of the translation of the diploma if it is in a language other than English, French or German
- 1 copy of the detailed transcript of the secondary school leaver’s certificate
- 1 copy of results obtained in previous semesters.
- 1 certificate of language for all teaching languages of the programme (Learn more on what certificates we accept)
for Master applications
- 1 identity photo
- 1 copy of the identity card or passport
- 1 copy of the European health insurance card (both sides); Non-EU students receive it by paying a fee at their arrival in Luxembourg
- 1 copy of the university degree (please check the eligibility criteria to learn more about criteria for your specific situation)
- 1 copy of the translation of the diploma if it is in a language other than English, French or German
- 1 detailed transcript of all the grades obtained for your Bachelor’s degree
- 1 copy of the recognition or accreditation of the highest degree earned – only if you obtained your degree from a country who is not a member state of the European Union (this document is requested after the acceptance)
- 1 certificate of language for all teaching languages of the programme (Learn more on what certificates we accept)
in some cases we require also:
- 1 motivation letter (explaining why you are interested in the field or course you apply for, detailing your career goals, etc).
- 1 detailed curriculum vitae
- The complete coordinates of two reference persons
- 1 letter of recommendation
