Committee for Reasonable Adjustments
The Committee for Reasonable Adjustments (CAR) is a dedicated body that ensures students and staff with disabilities, long-term health conditions, specific learning disorders, and mental health conditions receive appropriate support to access and participate fully in university life.
The committee is established by Art. 11 of the law (Loi du 27 juin 2018) and includes the creation and presidency of the committee for reasonable adjustments following Art. 38 and 39 of the same law.
The committee reviews requests for adjustments, evaluates supporting documentation, and makes fair, consistent, and transparent decisions in line with legal obligations.
Its role includes:
- assessing individual cases where standard procedures may not be sufficient
- recommending practical adjustments to learning and assessment arrangements
- ensuring decisions balance individual needs with academic integrity and operational feasibility
- promoting inclusivity by fostering a culture of understanding and fairness across the University
It is composed of representatives from the Rectorate, Faculties and Student Delegation, and works collaboratively with students and staff to develop and implement effective, person-centered solutions.
