Although some \u2018threats,\u2019 such as violence and loose moral at rock\u2019n\u2019roll concerts, were present in other countries as well, this talk shows that other so-called hazards should be read in the light of the French context. This was marked by the shadow of the dark years of the Vichy regime, the end of the Algerian war, students\u2019 protests in May 1968, and the lasting influence of the left-wing revolutionary spirit.<\/p><p>Florence Tamagne is associate professor in contemporary history at the University of Lille. She has notably published <i>Histoire de l\u2019homosexualit\u00e9 en Europe<\/i>, Berlin, Londres, Paris (1919-1939) (Seuil, 2000),<i> Mauvais Genre ? Une histoire des repr\u00e9sentations de l\u2019homosexualit\u00e9<\/i> (La Martini\u00e8re, 2001) and <i>Le crime du Palace. Enqu\u00eate sur l\u2019une des plus grandes enqu\u00eates criminelles des ann\u00e9es 1930<\/i> (Payot, 2017, Prix Augustin Thierry).\u00a0 She is the curator of the exhibition \u201cHomosexuals and Lesbians in Nazi Europe\u201d (M\u00e9morial de la Shoah, Paris, May 2021-May 2022).<\/p><p>She is currently finishing a book on \u00ab\u00a0Rock music, youth cultures and politics in France, Britain and Germany (1950s-1980s) \u00a0\u00bb and has published several articles on the subject.<\/p><p><\/p><p>Free public hybrid event.
