class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-wrapper \">\n        \n<p>Stefan Krebs is Associate Professor for Contemporary History at Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C\u00b2DH). He studied history, political science and philosophy at the universities of Aachen and Aix-en-Provence. He received his PhD in the history of technology from RWTH Aachen University. His current research interests include the industrial history of Luxembourg and the history of repair and maintenance. He is author of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.steiner-verlag.de\/Technikwissenschaft-als-soziale-Praxis\/9783515093484\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Technikwissenschaft als soziale Praxis<\/a> [Engineering Science as Social Practice] (Franz Steiner Verlag, 2009); and (together with Karin Bijsterveld, Eefje Cleophas and Gijs Mom) <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/book\/2938\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sound and Safe: A History of Listening Behind the Wheel<\/a> (Oxford University Press, 2014). He is co-editor of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcript-verlag.de\/978-3-8376-3860-8\/kulturen-des-reparierens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kulturen des Reparierens<\/a> [Cultures of Repair] (Transcript, 2018); <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcript-verlag.de\/978-3-8376-4741-9\/the-persistence-of-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Persistence of Technology<\/a> (Transcript, 2021); <a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Mediating-the-Decline-of-Industrial-Cities-Knowledge-Production-Heritage-Making-and-Urban-Transformation-in-Postwar-Europe\/Brull-Haumann-Krebs-vandeMaele\/p\/book\/9781032867281\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mediating the Decline of Industrial Cities<\/a> (Routledge, 2026); and Deindustrialisierung: Zum sozio-\u00f6konomischen Wandel westeurop\u00e4ischer Industriegesellschaften seit den 1970er Jahren [Deindustrialization: The Socio-economic Transformation of Western European Industrial Societies Since the 1970s] (Metropol, forthcoming). In 2015 he received the Maurice Daumas prize of the International Committee for the History of Technology (ICOHTEC) for his article \u201cDial Gauge versus Senses 1\u20130\u201d: German Auto Mechanics and the Introduction of New Diagnostic Equipment, 1950\u20131980. Technology and Culture 55, 2 (2014): 354\u2013389. From 2019 to 2024 he directed the project \u201cRemixing Industrial Pasts\u201d in connection with Esch2022 European Capital of Culture. The project resulted in a multimedia exhibition on the university campus and the online exhibition \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/minett-stories.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Minett Stories<\/a>\u201d.
