On the occasion of 107th anniversary of regaining independence by the Republic of Poland and Armistice Day commemorating the end of the First World War, the C\u00b2DH and the Polish Embassy in Luxembourg invite you to a round table discussion<\/strong>. This conversation brings together diverse historical trajectories and geopolitical reflections across Europe and the global South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We begin with an exploration of Poland\u2019s turbulent path shadowed by historical tensions with its neighbours. This exploration starts from Poland’s partitions and regained sovereignty in 1918, through the experiences of the Second World War, to its current place in the EU and NATO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will then address India\u2019s evolving notions of sovereignty, tracing how colonial legacies and post-independence aspirations shaped its global posture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we turn to Luxembourg, whose transformation from a steel-based economy to a banking powerhouse reflects a unique European journey of interdependence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, these perspectives invite us to rethink how independence is narrated, how dependence is negotiated, and how co-dependence is lived. We will examine how historical memory continues to shape political attitudes and international alignments. This is not only a dialogue about the past, but a lens through which to understand the present. Offering distinct vantage points, the discussion aims to converge on the question: what does it mean to be sovereign in a world of entangled histories and experiences?<\/p>\n\n\n
