The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C\u00b2DH), in collaboration with DARIAH-LU, is pleased to host an International Omeka S Developer Event<\/strong> from Wednesday, 3 September, to Friday, 5 September 2025<\/strong>, at the University of Luxembourg, Belval Campus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the C\u00b2DH and through DARIAH-LU, we are deeply committed to the ongoing development of Omeka S, supporting both research-driven projects and broader digital infrastructure initiatives in the humanities. This event brings together the global Omeka S developer community to strengthen international collaboration and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by previous events, this year\u2019s gathering will once again follow BarCamp principles, embracing an open, collaborative \u201cunconference\u201d format. There will be no keynote speeches or formal presentations, and no traditional workshops. Instead, the agenda will be co-created by you\u2014the participants\u2014ensuring that the sessions reflect the shared interests, challenges, and expertise of the community. Sessions will consist of breakout discussions, co-working groups, and hands-on problem-solving, all self-organized and participant-led. This format ensures an inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nSchedule & travel information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The event is designed to accommodate international travel, with a schedule running from lunch on Wednesday, 3 September, to lunch on Friday, 5 September 2025. This allows participants to arrive in Luxembourg on Wednesday morning and depart on Friday afternoon. Please plan your travel accordingly to make the most of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nAccommodation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As the event is in-person only, we have pre-booked 30 rooms at the Ibis Hotel on the Belval Campus, just a short walk from the venue. If you would like to reserve a room at a discounted university rate, please indicate your interest using this form<\/a> and return it to the indicated email by 3 August 2025 to secure your booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nSustainability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are aligning the conference with sustainable practices by reducing our environmental footprint and setting a standard for eco-friendly academic events. We encourage participants to engage actively in sustainability by using public transport, reducing waste, and embracing digital tools throughout the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
