\nInternational Public History online seminar. For students – By students.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Organised by the students of the Master in Digital and Public History (MADiPH)<\/a> at the University of Luxembourg, this online seminar will showcase a diverse range of presentations from a panel of International students (BA, MA, PHD) and practitioners from all over the world including; Qatar, India, Brazil, Kenya, USA, UK, Austria, Luxembourg, and Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are delighted to announce our keynote speaker Chao Tayiana Maina<\/a> – <\/strong>a Kenyan historian and digital heritage specialist who operates at the dynamic intersection of digital humanities and public education. In this keynote entitled The Lion\u2019s Tools: Laying the Groundwork for Transformative Public History<\/a>, she explores the critical role of public history as a space for intervention, disruption, and transformation. She examines how historical authority can be redistributed through resourcing, providing not only access to archives and artifacts, but also skills, platforms, mentorship, and support systems that empower individuals and communities to shape their own narratives<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The past is subject to multiple historical interpretations. Perhaps more than ever, the current context offers many examples of contested \u2013 and sometimes conflicting \u2013 views and interpretations of the past. How does public history deal with controversies, handle contested and conflicting topics?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
