{"id":11734,"date":"2026-02-13T08:51:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T07:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/?post_type=events&#038;p=11734"},"modified":"2026-03-24T08:17:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T07:17:56","slug":"launch-of-the-luxembourgish-u-core-interview-collection","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/events\/launch-of-the-luxembourgish-u-core-interview-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"Launch of the Luxembourgish U-CORE Interview Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/c2dh-en\/research-projects\/u-core\/\">U-CORE<\/a> project (<em>Researching the Collecting, Preserving, Analysing and Disclosing of Ukrainian Testimonies of the War<\/em>) is launching its interview collection with Ukrainian refugees and displaced persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Machteld Venken will open the event with a presentation of a new integral digital workflow for testimonies of persons at risk developed in Luxembourg within the U-CORE project. She will, among others, explain how that workflow was applied to nearly 100 recorded hours comprising 81 transcribed interviews with 52 narrators from Luxembourg. The access application for that collection will be introduced by its developer Dr Aliesia Soloviova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second part of the event will feature a round table moderated by Dr Inna Ganschow. The discussion will address key questions concerning the hermeneutic approach in oral history research, the protection of interviewees\u2019 identities in the digital era, and the sustainable archiving of recorded testimonies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third part will feature interviewees from the Luxembourg Network of Ukrainian Researchers (LURN) who have contributed to the U-CORE collection. This part will be moderated by LURN co-founders Prof. Martin D\u00fcring and Dr Inna Ganschow, who will announce the closure of LURN, as its mission to establish connections between local and war-displaced Ukrainian scholars is considered accomplished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow
