Kateryna Zakharchuk has been a Postdoctoral researcher at the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH). She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology from National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, Ukraine 2002 (Title of thesis: Formation and Development Of Russian Business Terminology).
Kateryna joined the C²DH in June 2022 as visiting fellowship and since September 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher working on the project “24.02.22, 5 am: Testimonies from the War”. The project’s goal is to collect testimonies of Ukrainians and their supporters to document the human experience of the ongoing war in Ukraine and abroad.
Before joining the C²DH, she has been Head of the Business Foreign Language Department (2004–2012) at Khmel’nyz’ky National University, Ukraine and Associate Professor for German as a Foreign Language for Specific Purposes at the Faculty of International Relations at Khmel’nyz’ky National University, Ukraine (1995–2022).
Past professional experiences include a Diploma on ‘Basics of Business Administration and the Social Market Economy’ from the Carl Duisburg Centrum in Cologne (1995 – 1996), commissioned by the German Foreign Office, and the EU-Project Tempus IV “Konsekutive und vernetzte Aus- und Weiterbildung in Bildungsmanagement” from 2010–2014.
The Public in Ukraine is informed about the tasks and features the project “24.02.22, 5 am: Testimonies from the War” due to Ukrainian television ТСH 29.11.2022.
Kateryna Zakharchuk is a member of networking Ukrainian research community LURN at the University Luxembourg.
